    Thursday, September 18, 2025, is the deadline for Israel to end its illegal occupation of the Palestinian Territories called for by the United Nations General Assembly. Israel has also failed to comply with the provisional measures set forward by the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The United States of America continues its acceptance of Genocide in Gaza. Tell our Representatives and Senators to Stop taking Israeli lobbyist money and Stop providing the weapons that have destroyed hospitals, schools, and homes and that have killed tens of thousands of Palestinians.   • Redistricting Task Force Zoom Meeting

    On Wednesday, September 17, at 3:00 p. m. on Zoom, retired Chief Justice Edward Chávez will report on the process for the 2020 Redistricting Task Force and the recommendations.  Panelists from 2025 Task Force will discuss the recommendations as they pertain to the next redistricting cycle.  A Q&A will be available.  Register in advance.

  • Legislative Finance Committee is in Las Cruces

    The state Legislative Finance Committe is meeting in southern New Mexico this week.  On Wednesday, August 20, the meeting will be at the Convention Center in Las Cruces at one o’clock in the afternoon.  Public comment will be accepted but may not start until after 4:30 p. m.  We are not sure on the time for public comment.

    Please consider offering comment on two items:

    1. Support funding for an Office of Peacebuilding at the state level and provide young people and incarcerated folk with conflict resolution skills to reduce violence.
    2. Ask them to require a water consumption analysis before considering any support for a resource-draining digital data centre in Santa Teresa.
